- Check levels of antifreeze. As its name indicates, this fluid keeps your car from freezing.
Also, try to keep your gas tank full. A full gas tank helps prevent the fuel line from freezing during the extreme cold. And keep an emergency kit of supplies such as a flashlight, batteries, warm clothes, food and water on hand in case you become stranded.
